With more than 250,000 applications developed since Android Inc. was acquired by Google in 2005, Android mobile operating system is one of the most preferred mobile platform worldwide. Though, Google took almost three years to develop a propitiatory market place, which opened it’s doors on October 22nd 2008 compiling a database of around 2,300 apps within a year that scaled up to 200,000 apps within the next year. It’s estimated that more than 4.5 billion app downloads have been made till date and increasing day by day.
According to the analytics organization Distimo, the reason for such a huge download activity in a short span of time is due to the availability of highest amount of free apps, which is 57% when compared to Apple’s App Store, Nokia’s Ovi Store, Windows Marketplace, BlackBerry’s App World which all have only between 20-30% free applications. Either way, it’s a well deserved treat for Android lovers and it’s a place for the amateur developers to showcase their talent in application development sector.

With such a huge list of Apps, it’s sometimes confusing on deciding which one to download. But, Google has not given a change to get confuse, instead the administrators have implemented a dedicated column on the website to sort out the top five apps in various levels. Below are some of the best Android apps of 2011 that can be downloaded for free.
1. Racing Moto:
Racing Moto is a fast paced motorcycle racing game developed by “Droidhen” and listed under “Arcade & Action”. This game is basically riding through the rush traffic without crashing against moving cars, that may distract the rider with sudden turns and lane changes. Increasing the score is another aim of the game, which can achieved through building the speed of the moto. The Viber Free Calls and Messages is a communication app developed by Vibra Media Inc. that allows the users to make calls or send text messages to other Viber installed devices anywhere in the world, however, the application uses the data plan to for communication, thus it’s recommended to use this app for long distance communication, which isn’t just available for free, but also saves a huge amount of money which communicating with your friends, family or business associates. 3. TubeMate:
